Great family resort! Our villa was amazing and had spectacular views! Be prepared to do a lot of uphill walking! My elderly parents used the shuttle/golf cart service each time as they were readily available to pick up and drop off all around the property. Staff were so helpful and friendly! Beware of the monkeys…my son and I lost one flip flop to the little thieves…

We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation at the resort. The staff was extremely friendly throughout the property, the accommodations were wonderful as was the restaurant and we had a great experience at the spa as well.

Lovely resort and grounds well kept, staff pleasant and polite however their English could have been a little better. A lot of mistakes made with ordering food and wine that resulted in receiving a very large bill upon checkout as they had not been deducted.
Very accommodating to special requests, my partner and I had a beachside commitment ceremony here that was just picture perfect, followed by a candlelit dinner on the beach just the two of us with our own waitstaff. All in all I would go back to Rawi but the hike up the hill to the sea view rooms was a killer! Koh Lanta is a very quiet island and if you're lpoking to party, this isn't the place for you. Just south of the hotel are some cute little bars, restaurants and bungalows that have a much more bo-ho family feel about them.

In theory this should be a great place to stay. It's a nice looking resort slightly removed from the loud bars of the main strip. Taxis are cheap so we didn't mind at all not being able to walk to the nearest bar or restaurant. It's also on the beach, has a good pool with plenty of sun loungers and supposedly lots of different dining options.
Our main frustration laid with the staff which there were not nearly enough of considering the hotel was at full occupancy (and it's a large hotel) and the majority of which seemed to be completely untrained with no idea of what they were doing. The pool restaurant often became self service and on more than one occassion we waited more than half an hour for some drinks.
If you like boutique resorts this is definitely not for you. If you have issues climbing hills and stairs, again look elsewhere. Also the wifi was unbearable, the gym well below standard and the food average at best. But it's pleasant to the eye, the room was fairly nice and I'm sure that it can suit families fairly well.
P.S if you stay over new year skip the gala dinner. Way over priced at £100 a head for an average buffet with terrible entertainment and appalling waiter service. Drinks not included.

Our second stay at this hotel, after an absence of 4 years. We feared that the very high standards we found last time might have declined a bit, and we are always aware of revisiting places we've loved in case of disappointment second time around. However, we needn't have worried. It is as superb as ever. The care and attention of the ever-cheerful staff is unsurpassed and if anything it seemed even better organised than in 2008. It still doesn't seem to have been discovered by us Brits, but was mainly Scandinavians families. In fact, it struck us this time that it makes a great place for young families to stay - again the staff seemed particularly attentive in that respect. The in-hotel meals also seemed to us to have come down in price relatively (there were a bit pricey last time), but of course you can still eat more cheaply, and well, once you step out into the adjoining small town. All-in-all, we'd have no hesitation in going back again.

This is a great hotel with very friendly staff.
First things First
This hotel is on a small hill, and if you get a room above the 500's then you have quite a climb up. If you travelling with young kids, then insist of a room with a lowest number possible - the 100's and 200's are the best. We stayed in the 850's and it was quite a climb up.The hotel offered an excellent buggy service to and from the rooms. The kids always took the buggy, while I sometimes challenged myself to climb up.
Around the Resort
The first thing I like to do is check out what else is there around the resort. The resort is not in a busy area, but is not secluded. There is a 7-11 outside the resort, and if you walk 10 minutes you are spoilt for choices on places to eat along the beach. The resort has a private beach, if you walk along the beach there are two places to get a massage on the beach, and a restaurant. If you are adventurous, you can continue to walk along the beach and cross a small stream – this will get you the next beach which has the restaurants I mentioned earlier
In the Resort
Kids enjoyed the pool, this is not resort specific, they enjoy any pool. The beach is small and rocky – it’s good only for sun bathing. There is a activity area for kids of different ages. The library has couple of computers to check facebook ( a must for teen age girls I guess). We particularly enjoyed the movie theater one afternoon, they have a good selection of movies, but book the theater in advance
