4 out of 5 stars

I've stayed with my family in Dream of Zanzibar for 7 nights and we had a wonderful time! The rooms were very spacious and clean (a big shout out for the housekeeping staff - thanks!) and all the staff very nice and helpful. I would definitely return and can recommend this resort. A couple of improvement points and notes though: - On our last day a massive group arrived (I believed it to be a company's trip) and the resort completely transformed itself: it used to be a dream family place, with quiet and silence, and it quickly transformed into a "spring break" type of resort, with noise and (very) drunk people shouting at each other in the swimming pool and playing with a volleyball in not a very soft way. This means the resort takes large groups and there is barely any control of their behaviour, and I feel that if they had arrived earlier during our stay there, our experience would've been different - Lunch starts at 1pm: this is perfectly fine for adults, but not ideal for families with kids that are used to earlier lunches. - Between the resort and the sea, on the sand, there are an "army" of (nice!) people trying to sell you stuff and get you to do tours. This can be quite intrusive sometimes, as they really push and you can never go swimming without having to say no to something 100 times. I don't know if this is the same in every resort in the area, but I know others in Zanzibar where it doesn't happen.
