Tembo House Hotel

What an amazing experience at the Tembo Hotel. Starting with the staff who are always friendly and helpful. They truly seem like happy employees. It looks like a family run hotel and they do an amazing job at managing. Love that the restaurant operates 24hrs, so you’ll never have to go hungry. Do note that the hotel does not offer alcoholic beverage. The location is just great. Note that if you arrive by ferry, it’s no more than a 10 min walk to the hotel. The airport approximately 20 min drive. All the sites you’ll want to see in Stone Town are within walking distance from from this hotel. There are lots of shopping and restaurants around too. I highly recommend this hotel.

This was a beautiful hotel two pool, beach front and full of courtesy and attentiveness. Tembo apartments were part of the hotel with another pool and included Freddie Mercury family apartment. They don’t serve alcohol but there is a cafe two minutes away that sell bottles of wine/beer. Also Livingstone’s on the beach, 5 minutes walk has live music every night and a bar

Tembo House Hotel is very charming and has a great history. We stayed in a family room and had a big terrass and a balcony plus plenty of space in the room. The bathroom could need an update and the mattresses are hard but everything else was absolutely lovely. The two pools were clean and we enjoyed the beach. The sun chairs need an update too. The restaurant had great food and the breakfast was good (also local food). Great location.

Good place to be with family and stuff are very friendly

It was okay - nothing more, nothing less. The location was very good and some of the staff was very friendly. We had booked the junior suite, but got a standard double room. Non-alcoholic drinks could be bought at the hotel, but they were very expensive. The hotel itself is very cool and has a unique history, but be aware that you must be able to climb a few stairs to reach your room.
