Staying here makes you part of the family. Our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from giving us rides into town to recommending the best tour guide and driver to sharing the delicious fruits they grow themselves as a pleasant end to our evenings. The neighborhood is very remote which limits restaurant and shopping choices but if you are looking for a quiet experience at the edge of some of Nature's most beautiful sights then this is the place. We stayed in the cabins and the beds are equivalent to a camping bedroll which was really exciting for our kids, a little less so for us adults. Overall we had a really unique and awesome experience!

This is a little gem. It's surrounded by fields, and only a couple of minutes drive from the entrance to Taroko Gorge. Room was clean, spacious and well equipped. They provided us a mattress to put on the floor for our 2 year old without any problem. Ignore other comments about being hard to find; our GPS led us right to the door. Simple but homemade and local breakfast. Real highlight is the friendly family who own and run the place. Mum (who is from one of the native tribes) cooks breakfast. Dad sells local handicrafts in the gorge by day - and gave us a lift back down several km long trail in his motorized tricycle when we were in danger of being out in the dark. Son and his fiancee love to spend evenings chatting to guests drinking their homemade fruit wine, sharing their knowledge of Taiwan and learning about other cultures. It helps if you speak Chinese but they also speak some English. All in all, such a refreshing change from big hotels.

This is not a hotel rather a room or chalet in a family run business. .we hv the wooden chalet outside the main building and must say room size is small. .location is far from any walking distance from either tbe train station or from Taroko visitors center ( highway bus )..you will need to call the lady owner to make arrangements for pickup or direction to taxi. .Surrounding is beautiful n farm stay is wht i may described as coming fr Australia. ..breakfast is simple. .and if the price is less than what we paid for ( 284 $) for two nites on such site is rather steep...couple owner are very warm so does make you feel at home..background is the gorge n you may get some nice pics in the morning. .n for fresh air

The hosts were incredibly hospitable, offered us fruit from their garden and homemade wine, guided us to a dinner place. They were very friendly to our two kids and gave them little gifts (ages 8 and 5 years). The location is beautiful, in the middle of farms with the backdrop of the Gorge. The lodging was unique and fun to stay in an a-frame, stand alone cabin type place. It was clean and light. The breakfast was delicious, eggs and toast with homemade jelly and fruit. I highly recommend staying here if going to Taroko Gorge!
