Chiayi King Hotel

Room was clean and spacious. Right opposite family mart and lots of food around.

Chiayi King Hotel is old but is fairly reasonable for the price you pay. Upon check-in, they show you a video showing that it is a non-smoking hotel but yet we still smell cigarette smell coming from the ventilation in the toilet. Strange design of the room where you switch on/off your lights from the outside of your room. Just picturing opening the door to switch off the light before you sleep. Our stay coincided with school children (baseball season) occupying majority of the floor. We were lucky not to get pranked by them not playing with the switches. The beds are on rollers and there is no way for them to stop moving. The basin is very low, about 80cm in height. You have to bend down a lot just to use it. They provide shampoo and bath soap in small packets which is very hard to open when your hands are wet. The air conditioning cannot be adjusted. It is fixed at 21-23 Degrees Celsius. The only way to make the room warmer is to off it. The receptionist told me that they do not have heaters in the hotel. The WiFi is slow for normal web surfing that we have to use our own portable WiFi device. The fridge does not work too. All in all, take your money elsewhere.
