Novotel Lausanne Bussigny

I was given a room to the top and another to the first floor. They knew I was coming with family. I requested for a change and i was downgraded to first floor and twin bed instead of king bed.

Air conditioning in high rise hotel was broken. Only option was to open a large window which made it possible for small children to fall out. They called this “natural air conditioning” as if it was supposed to be like this. Very unsafe and not proper ventilation for a high rise. Parking was stated as “limited”. It is actually unavailable. We had to return our rental car because there was no place to park it. We are not picky travelers, but this is unacceptable.

Not to the 4 star expectation. Stayed there for 4 nights with my family . Stinking toilets, none of the usual toiletries you would expect in a 4 star, only soap and 2 plastic cups. Paper cups provided for tea / coffee !!!! Breakfast was continental but can't have the same thing every day.

The kids bed was an opened sofa and not real bed, which was very small The room itself was "lake view" but from 2nd floor the lake cant be seen...

Despite not being in the most scenic of locations (the hotel is near a large industrial area) the place is very welcoming, clean and well staffed. Due to a flight delay we arrived after 11pm and were able to check in fine as well as eat at the restaurant which was due to close. The staff were friendly and needlessly apologetic for having to close soon after out meal. We had a family room which was adequate for our requirements, with a queen sized bed for the adults and a double pull out sofa bed for the 2 children. Unfortunately one of the kids had a bedtime accident and again the staff were courteous, bedding was changed and we were not charged for extra cleaning. The bathroom in the room is separate from the toilet which also made the stay more comfortable (for obvious reasons!) Everything was of a high standard and regularly cleaned / changed. We would unreservedly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Lausanne,
