Holiday Inn Express Luzern - Neuenkirch, an IHG Hotel

We are a family of 5 (with teens) and we stayed in the Holiday Inn Express for our stopover on the way to Italy. The hotel was super clean, modern and an easy location for the motorways. It did have food avail for lunch/dinner but we didn't have it so can't comment on the quality of it but did have the continental breakfast which was very good. We would have no hesitation rebooking.

Extremely dirty room and the hotel. The room smelled of pet urine. The staff was rude as well. The only bad experience I had with a hotel during my entire stay in Europe. Will never recommend this to friends or family.

Great for families! Nearby public transportation requires a 20 to 30 min walk to nearest bus station! Tons of facilities around the hotel in parking areas! Breakfast was good! Rooms clean! Overall a good place to be

Clean hotel room, littlebit small for 2 adults and 2 kids. No airconditioning so it was very hot. The standalone fan was noisy. Bathroom is ok. Breakfast was good.

Pros - Good Hotel, no AC but fan is provided, good breakfast and staff! Cons - Not the best location for public transport users! It is better to make informed decisions. Hope my review helps others in their decision to book their stay. For public transport users, nearest bus station is 1.5 km away. One has to cross a village with big patches of green lands and barns around. We walked that road at 10 pm at night. Luckily sun sets late in summers so some faint light saved us. Please do not try this in winters. Took us 30 mins to reach hotel but it was scary as hell to walk that lonely road in shadows and low light, with 2 kids. Next day we tried to get uber or taxi to go to nearest Train Station that was 3 km away from hotel. Uber said 10 fr but never came. Hotel taxi said 40 fr which was a rip off. We decided to walk the same 1.5 km road and catch bus instead. Walk through barns and meadows during the day, cool right? Wronggg!! Half way through that road, at the barn, an unleashed dog started barking at us and no owners came out to leash it or let us pass that road. We went back that road to get away from the dog, walked further through a grassy meadow to find a parallel road that connected to the bus stop. Luckily no other interruptions on the lonely road and we managed to reach bus stop. Bus 50 and 52 to Luzern station can be caught every 30 min from that stop. If I had paid attention to the location, I would not have booked this hotel. Lessons learnt in the journey of life

First off, the room was so small. I could barely fit my 4 bags. We were a family of four; and with 4 huge bags, there was no space for us to move an inch. Bathroom had poor water drainage. We woke up late in the morning and missed breakfast.. when my husband went to grab some fruits for my 3 year old son, the person at the front desk mentioned that he would charge us for 1 apple and 1 banana. My husband agreed and went and got the fruits. The manager was like- oh, I didnt know you were staying here. Thought you were a pedestrian. This comment was veru discriminating. Not expected this kind of a service. Hugely disappointed
