Sunlight Hotel Conference and Spa

Not updated covid-19 info on hotels.com-page. Additional cost for bed (for 5y kid). Room needs upgrade. Great breakfast and nice kids area.

I visited Nyköping and Sunlight spa hotel with my family during midsommer weekend. Main attraction was Kolmården zoo that is roughly 45 min drive away from Nyköping. Zoo itself was open and was very nice experience. Fully recommended. Sunlight hotel was selected since it was close enough and has spa. Hotel itself was renovated and we had room from newer side. Only things that could have been better are: - Larger bathroom with clearly separated shower area. Now bathroom was very small and when e.g. one used shower then next "user" need to wait unless wants to get feets wet. - Hotel restaurant was closed for midsommer weekend evenings (except for breakfast). I don't know about normal weekends but this hotel should at least have restaurant open especially when other placed are closed in city. Note: In Sweden midsommer day it seems that indeed most shops (all) and restaurants are closed. Breakfast was good in mornings and possibility to eat outdoors when sun was bathing was also very nice.

Lots of amenities for the price. Pool area was nice, but only semi kid friendly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. Only a 15 minute taxi ride to Skavsta airport.
