Hotell Gästis

Very refreshing concept but didn't feel very luxurious. We were given a room in the new annex. Felt a bit detached from the hotel as a whole as a result, since there is no common room/bar or anything. Hotel as a whole lacks outside space to eat/socialise, which is odd for a town as focused on summer as Varberg is. Food was varied but unimpressive, and really didn't provide much choice for vegetarians (such as myself). Obviously a huge perk that both breakfast and dinner was included but we ended up going out most evenings during our stay. Huge caveat to all this - I didn't feel that the hotel catered to my age group, rather to pensioners and families. If you are looking for a younger place, check out the sister hotel, the Havanna.
