Hotel Palacio

I initially booked only 4 nights and intended to find something else. I however stayed for all the nights I was in Suriname (eleven) and even paid for the two nights I went to the interior, just to keep my room. The hotel is conveniently located, my room was spacious and had ample light. The shower was warm and the bed slept excellent. There are some small upgrades and up keeps I would recommend, BUT I would still give this a 10 for the best and kindest service, especially from Rochelle, who runs a great space and makes you feel at home and cared for. They also offered pick up service from the airport and had that conveniently added to my bill. I was nervous if it would all would work but the communication prior to arrival was 100% and I was greeted by a pleasant lady cab driver at 1.30 am! Throughout my stay the staff helped with additional cab service, and they were always ready to help. I only had breakfast a few times, and can say that the Surinamese Omelet they make (you have to ask for it) is the best I ever had. This hotel is especially great if you are in Suriname for business, family or are traveling a lot to the interior and have this as a base. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this hotel. Another bonus, walkable to touristy area and next to a bank where you can get some cash, not easy to do still in Suriname. Note for travelers who are disabled this is not the hotel, there are no elevators or ramps unfortunately.
