Mariners Hotel

We had a fantastic 4 nights stay at Mariners! Our room was very comfortable, clean, and modern. The restaurant was lovely. Especially the friendly staff. We spent many hours there enjoying the view and sipping their delicious smoothies! The pool was clean and warm, and only steps away from the ocean. The entire staff were very warm, welcoming and helpful! Would definitely return!! One small note: there is an additional ocupancy charge over two persons per room. A family of four (in a double Queen room) was an extra $300usd over 4 days. Just make sure you read the fine print.

The front desk staff were absolutely outstanding - helpful, professional and extremely pleasant in every encounter. The bar staff were equally nice and helpful but unfortunately the same can't be said for the dining room serving staff. It was baffling and really unfortunate that the servers didn't so much as smile upon coming to the table. They made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. A simple smile with a 'hello' and 'how are you this morning/this evening' goes a very long way to making guests feel comfortable and welcome. I was also really disappointed that children at the next table were allowed to watch tv shows on their ipdads with no earphones, thus, subjecting everyone around them trying to enjoy a nice dinner while Sponge Bob Square Pants was playing at a very loud volume. A simple policy to welcome children but insist they have headphones when listening to music/movies is standard in most other nice restaurants. It is simply respectful to everyone.

The location of this hotel was ideal. The pool was great and the beach was great as well. This kept the kids busy. The room was clean and one of the newly renovated rooms but I do wish we had a beach or pool view to go along with the great room. The restaurant was very good, but be prepared to wait. Island time is a real thing and there was a wait every where we went. Just plan accordingly.

Small family run hotel, a little tired , but full of potential

Mariners hotel is in a great location close to Kingstown, the beach and young island. The room my family stayed in had an amazing ocean view along with a balcony for breakfast overlooking the ocean and was very clean. The restaurant attached to the hotel called the verandah restaurant had amazing food. However, the service overall was terrible. During the 7 days my family stayed we waited 2-3 hours for breakfast, lunch and diner. There seems to be a selectiveness/favorism approach to who gets serviced. I sat for 2 hours while more than one waitress walked pass my family and didn’t even ask if we wanted to order. Additionally, there were people who just walked in and seemed to get there food before us that weren’t even guest at the hotel. This occurred on numerous occasions to the point where I had to make a complaint to the front desk. I was assured that a manager or supervisor wasn’t in and would contact me, sadly that never happened. I hope this improves if I ever come back to Saint Vincent.
