Galle Face Hotel

I’m very fond of this historic hotel and lived here for 2 months many many years ago when I was a young child. Stayed here last about 10 years ago when they were doing major renovations. They need to do more. Some things are run down and neglected. The swimming pool decking was broken in multiple places and has not been repaired. The fridge in my room really did not work and the control button was broken. Lots of small maintenance issues that need to be addressed. It smacks of complacency at the top. Staff are good, breakfast was great and it’s a glorious setting. But it’s a very famous hotel resting on its laurels.

I was disappointed with the lack of a children's pool, the lack of variety in the food.

The hotel is very nice and the pool is great! The only disappointment was the bed sheets were dirty in a junior suite

The rooms and hotels are great. Staff is very nice & the pool area is beautiful. I stood twice at 2 different rooms & it’s pretty neat and clean. The only flaw I encountered which was very disappointing is the stained bed sheets in junior sweet. Buy new sheets for crying out loud! It wasn’t even a standard room but a suite!

The property still maintains the glory of old charm. This is my second time stay in the hotel. Hoping to have the third trip sometime later with my whole family including grand kids.
