Melia Benidorm

We where informed that the pool and the building work would be all fine when we got there. the spa, jacuzzi and the sauna where not on. noise and dust from the building work being done in pool. And we were not made to feel welcome at all. We met some friends and family from England and they had all been informed and given passes for the "Level up" so between 5 and 7 they went there and we had to got upstairs. Really not the vacation we were expecting.

This was a lovely hotel, not many English families staying but all the staff had good English. Good location within easy walking distance of Benidorm palace and a supermarket. About a 20 min walk to the beach too. Bit of a trek to the old town though, might be better to get a taxi but we enjoyed the walk. Can walk to aqua Park too. Thankfully far enough away from bars for a quiet retreat. This was not a stag/hen hotel for which we were grateful. We were pleased to be bed and breakfast only at the hotel, as the only restaurant very much felt like a canteen and was ridiculously busy - often hard to get a table. Lots of much nicer and reasonably priced restaurants on the seafront. The wait for the lifts took ages too, and is unavoidable if you are on a higher floor. If you want to use the indoor pool, jacuzzi etc you will be required to wear a swimming hat which you can purchase cheaply at reception. This is not required for the outdoor pool and inflatables are also allowed outside. The pool has lifeguards too. All in all an enjoyable stay!
