Hotel Río Bidasoa

Personnel very helpful. Initially given a family room in... underground with superposed beds, unacceptable for a four star establishment. They finally gave us a very nice family room in second floor. Very happy with it.

The hotel is perfectly located of a main street, but still quiet. This is a small boutique hotel that is situated at when you first enter the town, and within walking distance to anything you may want. I have been wanting to eat at Restaurante Alameda, and it is a very short 5 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are understated and modern, and my bed was very comfortable. My only complaint was that I was informed the day of my arrival that I would not have a double bed as booked but 2 singles instead. This is a very small complaint, and did not impact my stay overall. I did choose a room that had a terrace, and I would recommend this option to anyone who may be traveling with children, as just a room might feel small. The staff were very helpful, and there was plenty of coffee with a sitting area, and the grounds themselves were lovely. I only stayed for one night, but wish I had stayed for at least a few. I look forward to staying again, and absolutely love this small hotel and the town of Hondarribia.
