We stayed in a Junior Mountain-Facing suite at the Manor House (room 1401). The view of Table Mountain was exquisite and the room was comfortably large and well appointed. The bathroom is luxurious, with Victorian bath, large shower, His and Hers basins, towel warming rack and separate, closed off water closet area. The bedroom has a beautiful mountain view, and the bathroom looks onto the car park area. On arrival, I asked for a suite on the 1st floor (the Manor has has a ground and first floor), but unfortunately all rooms were occupied. Try get a room on the first floor if you can. My brother stayed in the Queen Victoria Hotel onto which the Manor House is attached. His room was R2000 cheaper than ours per night, and he said he would have happily paid the extra R2000 for the additional space afforded by the Junior Suite. Something to consider if you are wondering. Overall I loved the hotel. It has that distinctly boutique feel with service to match. I don't think it's a hotel suited to small children though, simply because it's quiet and subdued with a serene atmosphere, so I am glad the kids weren't with us this time. The hotel is within a short walking distance to the V&A Waterfront shopping complex and precinct. Very central. It's in a busy location, but the rooms were sufficiently sound-proofed, & the noise never bothered me, I am only sorry I didn't have the opportunity to use the Spa services - our visit was way too rushed.
