ANEW Hotel Hilton Pietermaritzburg

The hotel is lovely, breakfast was good. There was no air conditioner and fan would only run on 1 setting, the other family staying there had the same problem and it was a very hot evening so we really battled to sleep. Staff were friendly.

The staff was great! Brian went above and beyond for our stay and for that I would happily return. Brian was so helpful and friendly. He went above and beyond for myself and my friends and I would definitely recommend friends and family to enjoy this wonderful place.

We spent one night in a deluxe 2 Queen bedroom with our two children. Check in was smooth and uneventful and we were pleased with the decor of the hotel. It was slightly dated and some of the moulding had visible scratches but this also added some character. The room was beautiful with an amazing bathroom. My wife loved the classic large bath tub on legs. The only issue we had was with the tea and coffee. They didn’t place enough in the room so I asked room service to delive some more. They told my wife at 9pm that room service has stopped and we would need to ask the restaurant. This forced me to go downstairs and ‘encourage’ the staff about our requirements and they supplied the additional tea and milk to our room five minutes later. Our only major issue was the air conditioning. It tended to turn off after an unknown period of time so I had to keep turning it back on throughout the night as it became very hot. The pool area is great as is the free pool towels so I would recommend this place.
