City Hotel Ljubljana

Great hotel in walking distance to the Old city and a view to the castle. We stayed in a big family room with a comfy bed and 4 Big, soft pillows. The only downside was the shared blanket, as we prefer individual blankets. The room had a small fridage which was great for cooling our soft drinks. A really great breakfast was included, which we enjoyed at the outside patio on the first floor. Here you can also enjoy a coffee, drink and snack. The staff in the reception was really welcoming and helpful (Maja). We give our best recommendations for this Place.

Well situated for old town, the river with all its shops, bars and restaurants, close to bus and train station. We had family room, clean and spacious, with 2 separate sleeping areas, but no doors- may/may not be an issue depending on your family. Large modern bathroom. Varied selection foods at breakfast, they serve lunch but not dinner, just to be aware, we arrived late eve.then had to set off to find place to eat (most stop serving 10pm). Nice decked terrace which we looked longingly at from our window, but couldn't make use of because of the rainy weather.

We had a pleasant stay at City Hotel Ljubljana towards the end of August. We are a family of 4 and had booked a family room. The room was on the 3rd floor, it was a good size and well designed, sectioned into two with wall murals, queen size bed and double bed, 2 TVs, a mini fridge, a cupboard and safe. The room had individual thermostats for each section to control the temperature. Sleep quality was good. Staff (especially reception desk) are friendly and very helpful with anything you need - airport transfers, additional toiletries etc. Breakfast buffet is nice with a lot of variety. The hotel is centrally situated and within walking distance of most sights and the train station. The only point I would like to mention is that housekeeping needs to be more thorough, there were a couple of areas - window sills and upper section of the open cupboard that were dusty; also the cherry tomatoes left by the previous occupant were still in the mini fridge and the coffee sachets were not replenished every day. However, we did enjoy our stay overall so 4/5 :)
