Tierra viva was probably my favorite hotel in our 12 night honeymoon- i cant recommend it enough. Book room 504 (junior suite), trust me! It has a large balcony overlooking the urabamba river, with a view both up and down the river. Staff met us at the train station, which i didnt expect, but allowed us to ditch our bags and get to our tour on time. Staff also drew maps for me, gave us drinks and let us check out late. They also have a filtered water bottle filler in th lobby, the only one ive seen in peru- this saves a lot of headache managing water.

Definitely one of the better properties in Agua Calientes. The rooms are a bit run down, but nothing awful. The views are gorgeous, although I would suggest getting a room on the 3rd floor for best view. Be aware that the rooms with a view also come with the loud roar of the river 24/7. You will need to decide between a great view, or a quiet room. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to friends, family, and coworkers.
