Scandic Kirkenes

The hotel is nice and the breakfast has everything you want. We did had a problem with the water that it was completely hot and didn’t let us regulate the water. We were carrying kids so it was a problem for us. Next time make sure the water functions before letting people go in the rooms.

Stayed one night at this hotel. Phoned in and upgraded to a junior suite. The disappointment was great, when the suite was 2 ordinary rooms with the connecting door opened. The bathrooms was with a tub (yes, we had to ordinary bathrooms). The room(s) was clean. The pool area was good enough, but really cold water, and the sauna cold. Breakfast, better than other similar hotels! Friendly and helpful staff.

Reception Staff kept the insisting that I pay NOK 250 for my 14 year old child as child need not pay only when 13 years. Explained that I specifically booked a family room which cost 40% more with extra bunk bed. Heck it’s all stated in the booking confirmation. Expedia users knows that child ranges from 1 year to 17 years and no such thing as above 13 years should be adult. This was very BAD TASTE in my years of travelling. The manager spotted the ambiguity and address the situation but the damage was done already. Really BAD impression of a very nice hotel.
