Thon Hotel Cecil

Lived Oslo in general. The hotel is in a great area. Staff very nice. The breakfast buffet excellent I had a junior suite and it was very comfortable

Clean, spacious room in a great location - right in the city center. We booked a superior room which has a separate bedroom. When it came time for our young child to go to bed, we were able to close the door to the bedroom and stay up for a bit longer with access to the main room and the bathroom. Often in hotels, we have to turn all the lights out and go to bed when he does. Also, the staff was very helpful. We had various requests and questions, each was handled well by the staff. As an added value, the hotel also provides breakfast with many options.

The location of this hotel is fantastic - close (walkable) to almost anything you'd want to see and do as a tourist. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The actual layout of the hotel is very confusing. We were in the "new" section which requires using 2 different sets of elevators. Our kids were confused and we always had to escort them to make sure they didn't get lost, which was frustrating. Our room was incredibly hot and never got below 24C. We left the air on all day and even asked to change rooms, but there wasn't another option. There wasn't a window option at night either. All in all, it was fine and the people were very nice, but we would look elsewhere next time. So many other options available.

We had a junior suite with the best possible view of the Parliament square. The room was large with lots of light. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great. We slept well there. The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip around Scandinavia.
