Clarion Hotel Ernst

Was an overnight stay with a family of 4 so hard to tell about the overall experience with such a short stay. One thing was that we needed to use the hotel parking lot. When we checked in we were told they were book. I was never told to book ahead of time and parking in another lot was a slight challenge as we were leaving for the airport at 4am.

Checked out after one day and moved to a neighbor hotel. The size of the family room was good. The room felt dirty, showering there the whole bathroom got wet. In general the hotel tries to be a "design hotel", but you so clearly feel how cheap all the design elements are.... Got a new hotel closer to the water and still enjoyed our stay in Kristiansand.

The hotel as such makes a good impression and the staff is wonderful and very helpful. The breakfast is great and will definitely satisfy you with a great choice. However, our family room was small and very cramped and not ventilated enough due to a defective window, which was not fixed upon request. Our room was only cleaned once during the entire stay, which was very disappointing, we had to get our own towels and make our own beds (I would expect someone to do that once I am paying for it) The gym was also much smaller than I expected with very little equipment. Furthermore there where no ashtrays in front of the hotel which left a mess on the floor at the entrance.
