Distinction Hamilton Hotel & Conference Centre

Perfect location. Close to eateries, shops, waterworld. Very quiet which was great. Staff was awesome from check in to check out. Breakfast was spot on. We had everything and it was amazing. Definitely will be coming back with my family for a longer stay.

My family and I loved our stay and the staff were all friendly and the breakfast was A Plus 👍

We chose a big family room, found it to be well appointed. beds were v comfy, and we had enough room to spread out. The breakfast was sumptuous. Was a bit pricey, but we made a last minute booking

Being a 4* Hotels, there was no porter to accompany you or pick your luggages. At the entrance, we had to manage our own parking and way to the reception. At reception, no proper briefing on the hotel ammenities and facilities we could enjoy. We were just handed our keys and we need to find our way to the our room 212 with no help with our luggages. We had requested for a special room with a decent view far from kids and noise as both my partner and I we had our lawyers practice exams at the Waikato Uni Faculty of law. To our surprising the room exactly opposite to us there are kids playing, roaming and shouting very loud! I made a very simple and reasonable request from Kailesh (but we felt like ignored!). We needed some urgent amenities and tried to dial in the reception and the phone was not working. The room was not cleaned properly (traces of hair and dirty pillow in the room). The infrastructure is very old and lounge wasn’t tidy to a reasonable standard. The main door knob got stuck (as it is old). The bathroom is equally old and obsolete. Being a legal professional and travelling from hotel to hotel across New Zealand, this one has been the worst so far! I would never check in again. Pictures at booking online are misleading and the reviewing stars are as well. The cups and spoons in the room were dirty and stained. We paid nearly over $55 for breakfast but with very limited and not very tasty breakfast! A definite no go. Extremely disappointed!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We are a family of 5 in one room with 2 queen and one single bed, but it was still comfortable for us. It was clean, towels were clean and so was the bedding. Housekeeping provided us with extra cups and towels. My only two criticisms were the shower was a bit dated, but still clean and perfectly useable and the stairwell in the entrance to the rooms carpet was dirty.

Rooms are big and comfortable. Just wish it had sky tv. But overall fantastic i would recommend to family and friends

Great reception and restaurant staff..we did organise a late checkout 2 rooms but the cleaners advised our other famy in 106 they were coming to clean. Lucky we had another room where my family could wait. Shower was lukewarm to cold not great in winter..

Was a very comfortable stay would have like if they had a toaster or microwave so was able to heat food up for my children. Staff was very accommodating though.

We booked this particular hotel because it had a pool for the kids. For some reason they chose to close the pool for maintenance over the school holidays. Surely it could have been done another time?

At check-in, the old caucasian male reception asked my name then while looking at the computer screen kept shaking his head & saying no. As if my name wasnt on there, then reached in the box and grabbed the room keys. Then asked for payment, I told him i already paid online, he kept telling me I didnt pay! I went to show my emailed receipt and he went to get a lady worker. She looked at the screen and told him its paid already, he tried to dispute it and she just waved him off. Next, I had my card on the door for the room to be cleaned. We came back that evening and they just gave a couple clean towels. The beds were not made, the whole room was untouched and with young kids, we wouldve appreciated the room service as we are paying for a holiday break afterall. We were in block 1 downstairs. Positives were the beds were comfy and the roof didnt leak in the heavy downpour. The 2 ladies at reception were great too.
