Van der Valk Hotel de Bilt - Utrecht

Our family room had a beautiful view over the woods, we could even see cows. I enjoyed going out for a run or a walk, we were there to visit family in De Bilt but I wouldn't recommend the hotel for people who want to be in a central location or more in town. It's perfect for nature lovers though. Utrecht is very close, a 10-20 minutes bus ride. Good heating in the room and it looked very new. The mattresses were comfortable but moving: and the quality of the bed bases was not the best. The breakfast should be included in the price, especially given that their pool is out of service, the rooms are expensive for the location. The building itself looked cheap (ugly stairs, lift, you feel like in a hostel) the restaurant was cozy and quite classy, with good service. We only had drinks there.

Staff was helpful, the room was perfect for our family of four, with a bed and tv for each of our daughters. The restaurant was good and the food tasty. Though we had a positive visit, it was not a 5 star hotel.
