Hotel de Kroon Kaatsheuvel

Reception closed between 13.00 and 17.00. Old family hotel. Playroom for children, but untidy snd neglected.Beds and cushions uncomfortable.

Perfect spot for a family vacation at Efteling park. Easy walking distance to the park and also to the restaurants in town. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Room was cosy and comfortable. Playroom for the kids was a bonus so parents can have a coffee or a beer in peace.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while taking the children to Efteling, which is a 10 minute walk away. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, full of recommendations of where to go and practical tips. The family room was comfortable with two single beds and a bunk bed for the children. Downstairs, there is a coffee machine offering complimentary drinks, and a play room with table football and air hockey. Breakfast was continental, and there was a good choice of food. There is plenty of parking, and the hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the smallish town centre which had a few places to eat.

Lovely little hotel, with very friendly staff that I would say is made for families with young children as it closes down at 10pm and you're moved into the darkened breakfast room. On more than one occasion kids would come down after 10pm wondering why everything was in darkness. As we weren't getting back from Efteling until 8,30pm (late opening times) we ate across the road or via Lidl. If you're a little on the large size you'll find the single beds very narrow.
