We came to Ixtapa to visit family and stayed here at Las Brisas for two nights. Night one was exceptional service from the staff, we ended up needed to book a second room and Jairo was phenomenal in attending us and making sure we were able to book the adjoining room to our original. We had booked the breakfast package and the rooms came with a complimentary water bottle and slippers. The breakfast buffet was amazing, lots of variety and great service from the staff. Night two was a completely different story. Upon arriving to the hotel in our family's vehicle, the parking attendant questioned if we were guests at the hotel. Something they did not ask the night before despite arriving in the same vehicle. We found this odd and upon arriving to the top to the entrance the attendant was speaking about us on his radio and continued to stare. This made us extremely uncomfortable. My husband brought this to the attention of the staff, however, there was no manager available. Upon arriving to the room, we were greeted with a giant cockroach on the wall. My husband killed it and took a picture and we also brought this to the attention of the staff. They quickly changed us rooms and let us know they would fumigate the room. The next day we greatly enjoyed the breakfast buffet once again with different offerings and breathing views. 3/5 for cleanliness and experience but 5/5 to Jairo specifically for being the most professional staff member we encountered and for all his help.

Love this hotel. All rooms face the ocean. We stayed on adult floor that had its own breakfast area and cocktail hour. Enjoyed having a floor with no screaming kids. We stay here every year and love it.

Pros - The staff exceeded my expectations, EVERYONE was super nice and accommodating. I’ve never had service on this level from a hotel before. The staff raised the bar for me and my family. I would give 10 stars for the staff at this resort!! The views are breathtaking and the rooms are a good size. FYI - There is a lot of walking at this resort, thankfully there are elevators to take you down to the beach and pool area (the stairs are steep and intimidating). Cons - There are not a lot of restaurant options for breakfast and lunch. One restaurant for breakfast, one restaurant by the pool and one on the beach for lunch (we didn’t get a chance to have dinner at the resort). The food was tasty though. They are sticklers about the towel cards. At check-in we received one card per person and one card gets you one towel only.

We liked the pools and beach, although it has a red flag warning all the time so I couldn’t swim in the ocean . The room was basic. Service in restaurants was great and food is good. I didn’t like the Italian “ special” restaurant because it is in a basement and the food was mundane with little choice. The check/in was very slow. I bought children’s swim suits at their shop but when I tried to return one, with all its tags still on they would not refund. Exchange only which is difficult when they didn’t have the size I needed. They were very expensive . The one hour personal massage was excellent in a lovely spa.

We have stayed here for 9 years over 11 stays. The Brisas Club floor 20 and 21 is for adults only. Great way to avoid screaming kids and large families. It has its own room for breakfast in the morning from 7-11. The breakfast here is sufficient without having to go to buffet on main floor that can have a line up the stairs to get in at times. Cocktail hour from 6-7 on floor 20 for those in this plan great way to mix and mingle with adult crowd, get to know others and have bite to eat. The beach is private. Not hassled by salespeople. Staff that run you alcohol and food as you relax under a pilapa by the beach. Alternative is the pool area with kids area and also an adult only area. This hotel was very clean. Amazing staff. Definitely worth the money. Easy 90 peso taxi to Ixtapa if you want a break or to watch football or hockey in English at a bar.

We booked in June requesting a high floor and when we got the lowest floor of the junior suite category right in the trees we asked for a higher floor they told us too bad the hotel is fully booked the next morning we found rat feces as well as ants on our terrace so needless to say we could not use the terrace with jacuzzi and had to keep the doors closed we sent you pictures of our issues already we will never ever use this chain of hotel

The policy to accommodate a kid on my trip was much of a hassle, besides expensive. Maintanance needs to be done to two of the three rooms we occupied. I reported all the noticiable details to operator, but until the day we left, no body shows up to fix anything. I still have the list of details that I can share with you, and for the good of the hotel’s reputation, I’ll omitted here.

The resort is a very unique design, so you have views from restaurant/bar and your room. It is also in its own cove which has a very nice size beach. Unfortunately from the pool area there are over 100 stairs down to it. From the base of the resort they do have a 3 person elevator that you can take and then there are not as many stairs but still a walk and there is a snack bar and waiters down there. The 2 pools are 5' deep and have a set of steps into each, I had to stand on my tiptoes to keep my mouth out of the water. The the pools have huge trees giving them some shade but also LOTS of leaves and flowers that the pool guys could not keep up with (what a mess to swim in). There is also a shallow children's pool that didn't have the major issue with leaves/flowers. The month of May might not be the best time to visit. The waves were huge at the beach and the stuff in the pools made for a disappointing swimming experience. The employees were great and the buffets were good. They offer a Happy Hour at the lobby bar between 6-7pm. Our room could use updating but were kept clean. Don't plan on walking to town take the taxi it doesn't look that far but it is a walk.
