Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa

Everything at the Hilton resort makes for a great, relaxing, and unforgettable vacation for families with kids. The facilities, location, and staff are extraordinary

The good: - Lush environment - Nice room (deluxe family). Big with 2 bathrooms, like a connected 2-apartment room with 1 entrance. - Nice restaurant really near the sea. The bad: - The floor in the room dirty, after walking barefoot an hour feet were very dirty so floor seemed to not have been cleaned/washed since a long time - The reception doesn't seem to trust you. Even though being asked if we took anything from the minibar and answered no, they still need to manually check it to "believe" you. - The main pool not so clean and not maintained - lots of cracks on the bottom floor and water a bit dirty. However lush and nice otherwise. - Really expensive half/full-board for families with small kids not eating very much. - Drones not allowed anywhere over hotel area. Maybe ok as a hotel policy but nice information to have if you own a drone and want to take nice holiday air-footage. - Slow service in beach restaurant and bad value for money. - No kids allowed in the infinity-pool so we could not use it at all during our days there. Really disappointing. I'd say this hotel is more suited for couples than families. Families have a better choice staying at Sugar Beach resort next door, much more family friendly.

It has been the most wonderful trip we've ever been. Hotel location was excellent. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Hotel offers a lot of free water sport activities as well as see trips . We are already thinking of going back to the same hotel next year.. Only one down side, there was no free wifi service in the rooms. All guests had to go to the reception area for free wifi which we found quiete annoying !. Other than that everything was perfect. Very child friendly too.

We had a fantastic two weeks family holiday at the Hilton. With lots of activities on offer we were never bored. The children have made a good use of the pool and the kids club, while I enjoyed the Aqua Gym and relaxing on the beach. WE have visited most of the Islands tourist attractions ( Casela Zoo, Stag Island etc)- BUT BE CAREFUL, often they try to rip you off, charging an extortionate amount of money for activities- NOTHING TO DO WITH THE HOTEL, THOUGH.

We enjoyed the Hilton Mauritius very much although found it catered for older clientele rather than young families much better. The kids club staff are very enthusiastic but unfortunately when we stayed there our kids were about the only ones there - may have been to do with the season. Overall the rooms and service was very good and the atmosphere excellent.
