Gili Lankanfushi Maldives

Gili surpassed all expectations during my recent visit, recommended by my son for its Maldivian paradise. A seamless journey began with a friendly guide at MLE airport, leading to a quick 20-minute boat ride to the resort's dock. Gili's speedboat ensured a swift arrival in about an hour, setting the tone for an exceptional experience. The island's rustic charm complemented my spacious Duplex villa, providing privacy with separate pavilions for bedrooms, living areas, and bathrooms. The culinary experience, led by Chef Harry and Monice, was exceptional, with a variety of high-quality breakfast offerings. Exploring underwater wonders with Mr. Friday, Ismail, was a highlight, showcasing Gili's commitment to guest satisfaction. The impeccable service, personalized touches, and magical atmosphere make Gili a resort worth returning to—an extraordinary experience that left an indelible mark on my memories. I wholeheartedly recommend Gili for romantic getaways or family trips, as it holds a special place in my heart.

The resort is a mere 25 minutes by speed boat from the Male airport and every minute of that ride was memorable. The friendly staff, the comfort of the boat, the azure colors of the Indian ocean... we were lost in paradise even before getting to our resort. The resort is very serious about making your holiday different and fun. From the Mr. Friday who is available to you through your entire trip starting from the airport, to the "no news, no shoes" policy to the incredible attention to detail in everything they have done, to the genuinely friendly staff. It was like they were pampering us because they enjoy doing so, not because their bonus depends on it. The Indian chef pulled out all stops to make sure we did not go hungry, despite being staunch vegetarians. He especially pampered the kids no end, with different cuisines at every meal, ending with a different fruit sorbet every time. We have traveled a lot and experienced many luxury resorts, but Soneva Gili took the whole experience to a different level. If you prefer night life or shopping, do not go here. But if that is not your trip in life, and if money is not a consideration, this is it.
