WEIL Hotel

It is relatively new (as of April 2016). We stayed there as a couple when we came back to Ipoh from the UK for a family reunion. The hotel had our reservation ready and we were immediately booked in without any delay as soon as we turned up at the desk. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and very efficient. The room had a spectacular view of Ipoh, certainly not one I had ever seen as a child. It was clean, except we felt it could have been better. There was a distinct lack of storage facilities like drawers and hanging rails, forcing us to live out of our suitcases while we would have preferred to hang up our clothes and stored them in drawers for the several days that we were there. We had to hang wet towels on door handles and makeshift hangers as there was only one hook in the bathroom! Breakfast was buffet-style and excellent with the usual Western, Chinese, Malay and Indian choices. It was as delicious as it looked. The staff were very efficient at clearing used plates, almost too efficient as your plate could disappear if you just went up to fetch a drink. The bed was very comfortable and we had no problems sleeping. Sound proofing was good, with the exception of noise in the corridor as the doors could be sound-proofed and dampened to stop them slamming. The Ipoh Parade shopping mall adjoins the hotel and has loads of eating places and restaurants which in itself provided a place to go to in the evenings. Overall, it was a very good experience.

We went as a family. Unfortunately, 3 double rooms were not available near each other, but that was fine. The hotel is so new and clean. Keep it up!

Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Ipoh. The rooms are clean and bathroom are big. The only downside is that they do not have children pools.
