Radisson Blu Elizabete Hotel

The Front Desk staff were simply amazing. When they heard my luggage was lost/delayed, they immediately took me under their wing to help me out as if I was their family member. Front Desk Manager, Laura, personally called the local FinnAir rep at least 20 times since no one was answering. Laura also lent me a Raddisson staff winter coat which was clean, cozy and a Godsend. Mariana, who checked me on that dark, rainy night was kindness through and through. She made me feel so welcomed. The other front desk female employee (long straight dark hair) …sorry about lack of name… was gracious in giving me info of what was nearby. Finally, another front desk female employee who likes second-hand shops just as much as I do gave me great info on nearby, walkable charity shops so I could purchase an extra sweater or two until my suitcase showed up (a few days later). Nice hotel with good location and great breakfast but two issues: Parking place in the garage is not guaranteed even if requested beforehand. Pricing of the accommodation is misleading. Paid reservation for two adults and a ten-year-old child with a breakfast for three didn’t include a bed for the child. According to the hotel policy, by default, a child up to 12 years old sleeps in a same bed with his/her parents. To me it feels odd but apparently for Radisson it is totally normal. However, for a customer it is impossible to know whether the additional cost is included in the pre-paid price or not as the fee is not mentioned in the booking reservation.

Beautiful city - such a hidden gem! Nice hotel, small rooms, amazing breakfast! They have a beautiful backyard but unfortunately some guests smoke there, so if you're on the lower floors facing the yard expect smoke in your room. I'm surpirised they allow it, as other places in Riga are smoke free. If you're a non smoker or have kids, I'd stay in another hotel.
