5 out of 5 stars

About the Hotel: Rixos was real slice of luxury for my family and I. I would recommend the full board option, the buffets where quite varied and included some very tasty fish for dinner. The desserts where spot on ! Swimming pool was very nice and I was very impressed by the Spa, I'd never ad a Hamman or a steam bath before but thoroughly recommend both. Honorable mention too for the kids' club, our daughter (4 years) was very happy there and didn't want to leave. About the Area: Outstanding natural beauty, especially beautiful with snow on the ground, would love to return in the spring or summer.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with family. It was a great experience. Although the weather was quite cold, we have spent most of our time at the SPA. The room was clean and comfy. The staf was friendly and happy to help any time. Overall, recommend!

This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. One only needs to walk out the door of hotel to beautiful walking, cycling, or quading trails. Plus there's the lake. Add to this the beautiful rooms and amenities--it seems like a win-win situation. However, we would only recommend it to families. The reason for is that the hotel's clientele seems to be young families who are looking for a 5 star accommodation that allows kids to be unsupervised. Kids were playing ping pong and soccer in the lobby (when the hotel has a sports centre), hallways and restaurants became ad-hoc play areas, even a massage became a challenge as one little tyke kept coming into the room. The problem: the hotel did not have any control over the kids or parents, so the place was in a state of continued chaos. To be fair, this was a long weekend, so Borovoe was busy and perhaps there were more people at the hotel than usual (we asked about but couldn't get a clear answer); yet, this is the most expensive hotel in the area and because of that we expected a relaxing weekend. Try Kokshetau instead.
