Oriental Hotel Kyoto Rokujo

Best breakfast in Kyoto. Unfortunately, like all Japanese hotels, what they consider to be a "twin" bed is really a single bed for the rest of the world. I managed to get decent beds for my family for a reasonable upgrade fee. From now on that will be our room in Kyoto (if available of course).

It was nice and easy. The only issue was WiFi dropping and disappearing during the evening/night/early morning, which wasn’t ideal as that is when we could talk with our friends/family in our time zone.

The room I book it’s with the double bed, however it’s not a proper double bed mattress, they use three baby cot mattress combined to make up a double bed, it’s unacceptable! They explained Japanese style bed all like this, what a joke!?

I enjoyed everything about this property: the staff, the location, the room, the lobby, and the amenities. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to my family and friends.

I loved the professionalism of this establishment. The staff were super helpful as well, and with providing change for the laundry on site. The breakfast was superb. Very satisfied me and my family. Would come again.

Stayed here for a single night with my family. Rooms are cozy and I particularly enjoyed the Japanese inspired ones.

This is a beautiful gem of a hotel, about a 10-15 minute walk from the Kyoto train station. It has a very modern zen aesthetic, which felt both upscale and calming. The breakfast (which was included in the price of our stay) is superb with many options. I was traveling with 4 other adults and 2 children, and the breakfast was one of the highlights. The rooms are compact but nicely designed and comfortable. There aren't a lot of restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, but there are more options as you walk toward the train station. The train station itself has many delicious and affordable food options.

The rooms were quiet small it was a family room, there is literally no storage in the room but i guess its the same in japan everywhere, it was the same in tokyo and even in universal!

Overall the experience was great the staff were super friendly. I’d recommend to my friends and family.

This place was in the residential area. 20 minutes walking from the station, 3-5 min walking to bus stops and 10 min walking to subway. Staff were efficient spoke English well and helpful. Breakfast was very good. My family decided good hearty breakfast buffet at the hotel was better value than going out unless you are a black coffee on the go type. Inside of the hotel looks just like in the pictures. There's modern calm feel to the hotel. Highly recommend the hotel if you don't mind the 20 min walking with luggage with wheels. I guess you can take a quick taxi ride. There are lots of restaurants and massage places in walking distances.
