APA Hotel ＆ Resort Yokohama Bay Tower

great location - 5 mins walk to Redbrick warehouse, air cabin, walkable distance to China Town. It has two family mart inside the Hotel, super big Spa on 4th floor but it can get crowded at night on weekend. I booked the room on high floor facing bay view can see sun rise which is really nice.

It was great overall, but the tv didn’t work in my room. I booked two rooms for our family of 4, and the other room was fine.

Breakfast was delicious and very unique, lot of variety. The rooms are typical of APA brand, so expect it to be in the smaller side but it is very clean and looks new. I was surprised by the number of languages the staff knew as they were able to jump in with English, Mandarin with my family and of course while I was conversing in Japanese.

This is my 2nd time at this location. The room we checked-in had an obscene odor that kept us awake all night. We tried to identify where the smell was coming from by sniffing around but couldn’t locate. Finally around 4 am, we called the front desk to request a room change, which they kindly accommodated. However, the 2nd room we checked in also had the less obscene version of the same wet rotten towel smell. We then figured out that it came from the vent. We also saw a small blood stain on the toilet seat, and a bit grossed out by it. I know they were extremely busy during their holiday seasons, and quite frankly we didn’t want another inconvenience of switching the room, so we stayed the same another 5 days. Overall, all staff was very nice except for 2, whom did not seem to represent overall APA professionalism. I had a family member coming by to drop off an item at the front desk, and was quite offended by the way she was treated. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay.

The area is convenient to lots of places around Yokohama. They also have family mart in the hotel, and also just outside the hotel to buy bunch of necessities and foods. The room is so clean and comfortable to sleep. The view from where I stayed was magnificent!

The value for money is super good with this APA location. loved the family mart convenience store located inside the Hotel. When I visited Yokohama that week it had big rain storm so it was nice that I don't need to even walk out of the building to get food. It is only 5 mins walk to the Red brick wearhouse, and other tourist attractions. 10 mins walking to the JR station was okay for me. the Taxi cost is 700 to 800 yens (less than $6 US). I booked a high floor room with bay view for only $65. will definitely come back again.

Great place to stay, near the big Ferris wheel, World Porters and Cup Noodles museum. 24 hour family mart (convenience store). Highly recommend this Hotel for staying in Yokohama.
