The Royal Park Canvas Kobe Sannomiya

I’m growing more and more fond of the properties by Royal Park Hotels. Having previously stayed at one of their more luxurious locations in Kyoto, I was prepared for a serious downgrade at the cheaper Royal Park Canvas Kobe Sannomiya. That expectation was completely unwarranted with the hotel leaving a very positive impression. The hotel is located in a bustling area with restaurants and entertainment nearby. Not the most posh area, instead think izakayas, karaoke joints and anything between. But it’s within walking distance of the landmark Kobe Harborland waterfront, the shopping arcades of Motomachi, Chinatown and the Kitano area with the old Western consulates at the base of Kobe’s mountains. Kobe is that compact that I walked it all and the hotel’s location allowed me to do just that. The hotel itself has friendly staff with a mainly young clientele, some with families. My room with double bed was spacious although no view. The curtain was hiding an office building a few meters removed but that was to be expected in this area. Other modern details swooned me nonetheless. For example, you can use your own Netflix and other streaming apps on the tv. The intererior was modern but without going into an awe. Very clean and modern restroom with rain shower. Just right for the price. The breakfast was unique with western and Asian choices and some with a twist.
