La Vista Hakodate Bay

I stayed at La Vista for seven nights while visiting Hakodate for family reasons. I used to live in Japan and have traveled all over the country. This, by far, was the best hotel experience I ever had in Japan. The property takes international best practice into account but still clearly retains a Japanese aesthetic. The breakfast buffet is extensive, and the rooftop onsen (hot springs) is excellent. The hotel is located right in the historical heart of the city within walking distance of the train station and Hakodate's famous (yet practical) street tram system. I never had to take a taxi during my stay. Without a doubt, I will choose this property for all future visits to Hakodate!
