Alma Hotel

I rated this as 2 stars for the following reasons: Cons - Parking was terrible, there is no breezway or hotel specific reception on the street. I had to double park, go up to the 2nd floor and let reception know I had arrived. THey called their valet who came in 10 min but by that time a bus was yelling at my family to move. - I had to ask the reception to come help with bags and it took 3 trips because the elevator is slow and small. - We came back to the 2nd floor for some reason just to be told to go to the 4th floor to our room. - Room was extremely noisy all night long with people moving furniture, very loud road noise and lots of light (curtains have small slits in them). This was a problem for us mostly since we were traveling with a 20month old but my wife and I were woken up by loud music and loud horns. - The room is extremely simple with not many amenities. - We found a roach the morning we were checking out after a 2 night stay. Pros - Great for single or couples in terms of proximity to lots of sights, food, bars. - Staff was helpful and nice in our limited interaction - Travelers without a car or luggage

There are hotels that you stay at, and there are hotels that stay with you: Alma Hotel is definitely one of the latter. After last staying there *seven years ago*, I made a last-minute booking after unexpectedly findingal myself in Palermo for the night. The welcome I received upon my return was as if I were a member of the family. Everything about the hotel is perfect, from the staff (and especially the genuine warmth and hospitality of the owners Antonella and Paolo), the spacious, well-appointed rooms (the suite was exceptional), and the abundant spread and showcasing of local Sicilian treats at breakfast. The only downside? That I waited seven years before returning … next time I shan’t leave it nearly as long! PS. The owners of the hotel have also recently opened a restaurant nearby, Sapori Peduti, that continues the theme of warmth and hospitality , with exquisite food and wines to match!

A small but Very cozy hotel A family hotel with Very clean rooms, excelent shower and confortable bed The neste part is the family, taking care of every detail with home made vales, made by the owner, Excellent location!
