Hotel Mozart

Our room was comfortable and clean. Lounge comfy and cool. TV had options to change some programs to English: nice for a veg-out for an hour or so! Not enough staff on desk so of course two women were ignored (often) by the male staff when they finally got of their lengthy phone conversations and began to acknowledge the queue in front of them... The male reception staff were not helpful or forthcoming or friendly - overworked? Uncaring? Breakfast ok but I had to ask for a slice of gluten free bread each morning (and then the packet was finished - don't know how long it was since first opened!). The breakfast coffee wasn't! It was grain and chicory instant substitute - first hotel of many across Italy and Scandinavia to present this option as acceptable. Scrambled eggs sat in watery lake unless you had early access... The barman was great and bar prices reasonable. 'Little Italy' bar restaurant across the side street and down a block a great option for dinner or their 'buffet' included with an aperitif. Location close to Gerusalemme Metro really good. Overworked but very good cleaning staff. The Hotels.com site says 'laundry service' - correct, but also 'for families' laundry facilities - not so. And the 'service' very expensive, not that we used it. More or less the only info in the hotel about Milano or what to do etc was a rack of stuff in an alcove near reception which pretty much spruiked shopping tours and outlets.. No class, care or real soul, overall.

It is a really good hotel for family holidays in Milan!
