Winter Garden Hotel - Bergamo Airport

The property is modern and well decorated. The room was a little small but did the job. The shower was great with sprinklers. We did not like that there was no food before 7:30pm and that was not advertised in the description. We had a baby and there was also no shuttle to the mall before 4pm. We had to take an overpriced taxi that charged 23 euros for a 3 minute ride. Some of the staff at the reception or answering the phone need to be more friendly with customers and accommodating. Other staff specially at the restaurant in the evening we’re great! Overall it was a good stay but the checkin was not a good experience.

We arrived early and as the hotel is situated on an industrial estate without transport you’re pretty stranded and dependent on shuttle bus service (5euro per person) or taxi to airport 2k away but not walkable logistically. If you have children or arrive early bring snacks and drinks. Rooms are not accessible until 3pm and asking for a coffee for two while waiting was arranged although it seemed to be a request that needed ringing through to the bar to get approval. The problem comes as if you want to enjoy an alcoholic drink in the open bar area or sit in the lovely paved garden area if it’s good weather you’re told no we do not serve until 5pm. As we were on holiday this was disappointing. While we sat a group of five men arrived and were promptly served bottles of beer! I did ask a second time for a drink and despite initially being told we do not serve cocktails and saying we did not want cocktails our order was taken and we enjoyed our drink although the awkwardness of gaining one took the charm from the relaxed bistro area and lovely view of the green gardens beautifully planted. Corridors and main entrance are very well set out , bedrooms are more basic but good . No tea or coffee facilities in room. Mini fridge available No complimentary water in room. Breakfast is lovely and vast choice and the room bright , modern and airy can recommend. Reception staff were helpful and pleasant at all times.

Lovely hotel, but no time allocation for kids to use the pool. Which was very disappointing, no milk for tea/coffee in the room. Very close to airport with is great. Breakfast was very good.

Supposedly a 4* hotel but the rooms were spartan and had more in keeping with a Travelodge than a Malmaison. We had to ask for more pillows as there were only 2 supplied for out queen bed, and the pillows delivered were pretty useless. There were only two towels in the bathroom, one of which was a hand towel. The shower wad a good size, though. We didn’t get to use the pool although there was clearly one there as the smell of the chlorine enveloped the reception area, especially around the lifts. The hotel wouldn’t let us use the a/c despite it being over 24°C in our room, which made sleeping difficult. They claimed it was because of regulations but that is just not good enough. The restaurant served overpriced bland food and did nothing to intervene and ask the parents of a bored toddler on the table next to us to turn off the volume of the iPad blaring cartoons at us.
