The Lake Hotel Killarney

Our waitress at dinner was rude and rushed us the whole meal. Our room was extremely loud to the point we could not sleep most of the night. There was watering running outside our window that we could hear inside. We could hear every footstep the people above us made. We could hear the wait staff in the bar talking & moving dishes until the wee hours of the night. There were children screaming that sounded like they were in our room for over an hour that started after 10pm. We asked for 3 breakfasts to go and were only given 2. We also noted there was a dairy allergy but were given a sandwich with butter & cheese as well as chips with cheese on them.

The staff were outstanding. We booked a room which seemed much bigger on the photos but when we arrived it was really small not a lot of room. I decided to see if we could upgrade as we were staying here four nights. They could not move us the first night as the hotel was totally booked but said they would contact us in the morning. They called us the following morning to say they had a room available. I went to view the room it was a suite fabulous lots of room and way better than the small room we were in. I asked what the price difference would be they said what I had originally paid was fine. After the flights had been canceled etc. this was such a kind offer. In Ireland it’s not all about the money people actually matter. I can not thank the staff and mangers enough we had a wonderful stay and cannot recommend the hotel enough a big thumbs up from all my family. Thank you so much.

So far in our trip The Lake Hotel has ruined all other hotel experiences! Perfect location, stunning views, staff that treat you like family, and the best breakfast we've had anywhere period! The wife loved The Lake Hotel so much she said she wants to visit Ireland again and just stay there a week to enjoy everything The Lake Hotel and the surrounding area has to offer. I'm absolutely serious, The Lake Hotel should be on your list of places to stay! Rooms: Our room was perfect! Absolutely not a single flaw. All marble bathroom was spotless, beds were ridiculously comfortable, and every amenity you could need is available. Kid friendly, absolutely! Crib and all available, The Lake Hotel simply hits every note. Safety: Safety is of no concern here! Toddler friendly rooms and accommodations, danger points within the hotel addressed, great security coverage to keep a watchful eye on things. Walkability: National Park is right onsite, allowing a quick walk to several popular destinations and sight seeing locations. We loved the area, it's a nature lovers dream! Food & drinks: My main review covers this but the breakfast is stellar with a mind boggling selection! We had supper in the "fancier" dining area and let me tell you their chef knows how to make a meal and make you feel special! We had no reason to leave the grounds, The Lake Hotel can satisfy you start to finish, sunrise to sunset!

We had a family get together here and the accommodations were great. The room we had was large enough. The areas around the building had everything we loved with walking and bike riding. The only thing I would say as less than superior was the evening dining. Only half of our party was waited on and the others had to go retrieve their own drinks and hunt down the server to order food, even though we were at the same table . It was weird. But the food was pretty good, I'm not sure worth that much money.

Beautiful historic family hotel in a picturesque setting. Very well maintained with excellent helpful, friendly staff. The food was outstanding! So close to the beauty of the National park. We would definitely stay here again. A true gem.

Our family had an incredible experience at this hotel. With the exception of one younger blond female restaurant server, every employee went out of their way to provide excellent service. The breakfast was incredible. Beautiful views, excellent food with a huge variety of options, and kind staff. I can’t praise this place enough. Bravo!
