Castaway Resort

Really enjoyed our stay here. Property was super cute & a few minutes walk from the best swimming beach on the island. Loved the relaxing vibe. There were a few negatives, mainly being the cleanliness. As the photos online were so amazing, I was a little bit disappointed. In saying that, If these little things were fixed I would give it a 5/5 and wouldn’t hesitate to go back. - mould on the bed canopy. As you look up when in bed, I could see big spots of mould. Knowing that the canopy doesn’t get cleaned, I had to keep moving it behind the bed as I didn’t like my kids touching it. - the hammock (brown one) outside our room had a huge spot of mould/stain. - lounge chair outside was filthy. I wouldn’t use it unless I had my sarong covering over it. - no where to hang wet pool towels & they don’t get replaced. I resorted to putting our dining chairs in the walkway with our towels over them so they got some sun. - walls are crumbling and there was a hole right next to the bed where the bedside table is. - area under & behind the bed had very thick dust and needs a deep clean including the bed frame. I still loved the place but these small things that could easily be fixed would make this place amazing.

We booked a room that was advertised as having a fridge and coffee making facilities. On arrival found we had an adjoining room with no fridge, no kettle, no coffee or tea or complementary water bottles. The only good thing was we had a day bed on our porch. We complained about this and was told we had the adjoining room to a 2 bedroom family unit. The other room had a kitchenette and a large fridge. Ideal for a family. The manager compensated us with a free bottle of wine and we could use the bar fridge with complementary water. There was also a free to use water filter which supplied chilled water for anyone to use at the hotel which was nice. The good things about the hotel was Clean Helpful nice staff Very well kept pool Really nice rooms if you have 2 rooms for a family. The bad things Noise, rooms have thin walls and you can here every thing from adjoining room. Can here bar restaurant with band down road. Need to ask to have pool towel changed. There’s a good restaurant called Lgood just up the road from Castaway. The staff are at the hotel from 7am to 7pm. So no service after these hours.
