Hotel Genggong - CHSE Certified

We loved the Hotel Genggong in Candidasa. The hotel kindly granted our request for a top floor (Royal) room which had fantastic views from both room and balcony of the beach, sea, reef and mini-islands, and of palm forested hills to the side. You can just about view both sunrise and sunset given the way the balconies face. The hotel is situated down a track off the main road which makes a lovely walk by day, and is not an issue for evenings as most restaurants in Candidasa do free taxi pick-ups and drop-offs. It is very near to the Lotus pond which is lovely to visit before c 10.30 a.m. after which the flowers close up. Candidasa area is highly recommended for a stay of c 5 nights as we did to experience a quiter more traditional part of Bali.. Hotel breakfasts were excellent although included regular coffee not the best and probably worth paying for a cappuccino or latte some days. They are so accommodating they opened breakfast early for us one morning when we had an early start trek scheduled. It was nice to meet and chat to the managers, Aldo and Francesca, who were charming and had interesting tales to tell. The hotel has the very relaxed feel and vibe of a family-run hotel with friendly and smiling staff. Despite not being new it is well maintained and the pool area and gardens are beautiful.

We had a wonderful 8 day stay at Hotel Genggong.It's a small family run hotel ,with stunning ocean views .We spoilt ourselves and stayed in the Royal room ,which was very roomy with a super comfy king size bed .The block out curtains ensured a great night sleep .There is a smart TV, but we were too busy watching the activities on the ocean to watch it .The fishing boats headed out in the morning and returned with their catch mid morning.In the afternoon families came down to fly kites and then the night fishermen came down to fish off the jetties. The beach is small but clean ( the "trash heros" were there cleaning during our stay ) The staff at the hotel were always friendly and helpful ,quick to answer any questions I had prior to our arrival.The room, pool and gardens are spotless . The hotel is located within easy walking distance of town but far enough away to be very quiet and peaceful . in short ,we can't wait to go back to stay
