The Urmi

I had booked 3 rooms for 3 nights at Urmi for me and my extended family.All the rooms were nice clean and comfortable.Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Hotel has an affordable restaurant which serves good Indian food. Only negative is the hotel's location - outside the main city center but easily accessible by taxis and autorikshaws

With out second thought, I will stay in The Urmi if it happens for me to go to Haridwar again. We stayed in the hotel for 2 days in this year (2013). It was a piligramage trip to Haridwar with faimly (2 adults and 2 kids). After long journey of 15 hours, we were exhausted and tired with no proper food on the way. The lunch at hotel was awesome...served hot with most of the stuff right from stove. Being from Andhra Pradesh, curd is a must wiith food :). Up on earlier notice, they arranged curd as well. :) The facilities are also very satisfactory. Wi-fi is available in hotel reception area. Balcony is available to the room. Saptarishi ghat is walkable for holy bath in river Ganges. 10 mins. walk to Haridwar - Rishikesh road. To avoid wastage of food, receptionist asked us to confirm/order food well before the time. Location wise, this is far from city but peaceful location. In fact, I did not see any thing negative to point out in this review. Finally, the price is very competetive. :)

The Urmi was fantastic choice, I read its review on tripadvisor.com and Hotels.com gave me lowest prices so I booked it.. The hotel and its staff were very courteous and it has all amenities which are required on leisure trip with your family to a holy place like Haridwar, the best part is it is just 5 min. away from Shanti Kunj and 15 min. from Rishikesh for river rafting. Also Har ki paudi is just 5 min. Overall a very clean, nice and comfortable hotel with good hospitality !!
