Booked our stay based on the majority positive reviews, and website images. Be prepared - the Diggi is nothing like what you see in the images on this site. Cons: no green lawns, all burnt soil, piles of dirty laundry on view, and the condition of main areas are majorly run down. It's clear that while the Diggi was once an awesome, historic property, due to its sprawling size and age, it is desperately in need of renovations. Especially the left wing rooms, which are dirty, with dank furniture, moth eaten curtains / rugs, and reminded me of a highway Super 8 motel or hostel (not the 5 star hotel we'd paid for). Distraught and disgusted after first night, we tried to switch hotels, but everything booked solid in high season. That said, after speaking with management, voicing our complaints, and changing rooms THREE times, we were placed in a gorgeous room right above the lobby. That room featured a spacious marble bathroom, nice furniture, and a fabulous garden terrace. It really, really matters which room you get there. For the pros, the staff is like a family, super sweet and kind, once you get into their rhythm. However, be prepared that this hotel is run-down, faded, and it REALLY matters which room you get. While location is great, and we can totally handle (and often enjoy) hotel quirks, we wouldn't book here again, nor is it worth the money paid. Hope whoever is controlling this property can invest back into it, because it could be so much better.

We arrived late from delhi but had a very nice welcome and an upgraded room. Very clean, beautifully decorated in traditional style. Breakfast was tasty and nice choices. We ate in the garden with company from peacocks. Staff were polite and friendly. Easy ride from and to airport. Easy ride to the main places. If you need a driver, there is a family of brothers who are trustworthy and very pleasant. They can bring you to very good and well priced local art and gems. Nothing bad to say.

We stayed at Diggi palace based upon a recommendation by family member and it lived up to our expectations.
Quite, rustic beautiful property that has everything one would need. Rooms are spacious, very well kept, clean with all the amenities included.
Food is fabulous and kitchen/waiters staff extremely accommodating to special requests.
Mr. Wilson and rest of the staff are always available and willing to go beyond the call of duty.
The owners mingle with the guests, very approachable and generous. They offered room and food to visiting drivers for free!
