Grandi by Center Hotels

Amazing staff, very cleaned and good location. If travelling with family, this hotel is highly recommended as the service level is very good and staff helps you with any query.

The rooms are not 4 star hotel The sink is in the bedroom The closet are open Good but not great No cold air conditioning The restaurant is not open for lunch And the menu for dinner is small, no options for kids or teens

Great location and kid friendly breakfast. Clean and cozy

Really well located hotel, close to some great restaurants and a nice walk to the centre. Easy location to access trips anywhere. Check in easy but our room wasn’t set up for a family of 3, and then it took 2 attempts for them to get this correct which was strange as the booking clearly stated 2ad 1ch. Breakfast complementary and was fantastic and staff lovely. Rooms well sized and very clean and tidy. Bathroom huge, seriously 12 people could fit into the shower yet the sink is tiny and there is no counter space whatsoever. Honestly other than your toothbrush there is nowhere to put anything in the whole bathroom. Storage in the bedroom is minimal too, which is a shame as in winter even if only going for a weekend you have layers and so the 2 tiny shelves and 6 coat hangers are just not enough to store the clothes you will bring. Other than that the hotel is great and we would stop again.

Such warm hospitality & family friendly vibe.

The hotel on the outside looked updated but the rooms are not. We also faced an issue where we had to check out a day early due to a family emergency and leave early. The hotel was not helpful with obtaining a refund or giving us direction on how to obtain it. I won’t recommend this hotel for facilities and also helpful in a stressful time.

The suite was large and worked well for my family

We stayed at the Grandi for a week in Room 533 on the fifth floor with a balcony and view across the town to the harbour. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. The breakfast selection was good with juices, porridge, chia pudding, yoghurt, fruit, eggs, bacon, excellent sourdough bread, croissant, ham, cheeses, jams, honey, teas and coffee. Also on offer was the local cod liver oil which was really good unlike the stuff we had as children. We found the hotel very warm and ‘hygge’ after being out in the cold all day. Reception were helpful and friendly. Easy walking distance to the town and plenty of places to eat nearby. Try the soup and bread from the bakery next to hot, it’s really good.

Excellent! Such accommodating staff. I asked for early check in and for my room to be close to my family and they replied straight away and were extremely accommodating for all our requests. They also booked our taxi to the airport. Nice breakfast. The hotel interiors were warm and welcoming. Great location if you’re a tourist in Iceland. We had a great stay! Highly recommend.

Grandi was a perfect place to stay for our family. Knowing nothing about the city, I did a fair amount of research on hotel options in Reykjavik. I was worried Grandi would be a little removed from the center, but it turned out to be an excellent location and easily walkable to so many things. I had also noticed that many of the local hotels don't have a 24 hour front desk (and we really needed that assistance multiple times), and various other amenities were lacking, but Grandi had everything we needed. The rooms weren't big, but they were clean and efficient. The bar and restaurant were nice, and the free breakfast buffet was very convenient and well stocked. We would absolutely stay there again.
