Soho Boutique Hotel

I'm not a resort kind of guy. For that matter, I'm not a touristy area kind of guy either; I'll happily visit some of the tourist attractions in foreign cities but generally try to avoid obvious tourist traps and ostentatious commercial set-ups. This hotel here gave me exactly what I needed: proximity to everything interesting in Budapest all the while being located in a real neighbourhood, with real people living in it, rather than isolating me on the side of the Danube with hords of fellow tourists. I loved it. And I made friends with Hungarians from day one. Dohány Street is lively at all times, day and night, but also felt safe around the clock. If you're looking for something authentic and if you're the kind, just like me, to visit everything by foot just to be able to take in the sights when you travel - taking pleasure in visiting even regular little streets - do consider this place. Not to say walking would be your only option, either; you'll be at the crossroads of two major arteries with an easy access to the tram, the subway, or taxis, whatever. I rented a junior suite. Big, clean, open-space concept, glass shower, king-sized bed, etc. Perfect for me. And the staff has been very helpful, seriously. Those guys at the front desk will totally go out of their way to help you. Make this hotel an option, it's worth it.
