Danubius Hotel Astoria City Center

We had a 2 bedroom family room. The rooms were huge with high ceilings and big windows that opened onto a big pretty, busy street. We did not hear any noise though. The beds were great! The guy who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a lot of options - even for a vegetarian - and the room we ate breakfast in was gorgeous. Location was great - near things and next to one of the stops for the 100E airport bus. Most of the furniture is a little shabby but we did not mind this. It was kind of quaint. However the cleaniness was really bad. Literally crumbs on the ground and something on the floor that should have been mopped up. Lots of dust built up on ledges, etc. So not cleaned properly before we arrived and not cleaned well over time. Tbh I would stay again but if you are grossed out by dirt you should not.

Very conveniently located hotel, with great access to metro, trams, bus etc. We had a junior suite which was huge, but is looking tired and in need of an update. Cafe Astoria, where you have breakfast, appears to be part of hotel, but you can't charge anything to your hotel bill which is a bit odd. Disappointed that there was nothing gluten free at breakfast apart from cheese, fruits etc, but no gluten-free bread, crackers, cereals or cakes.

Very good hotel in a centrally located area. We had a spacious suite with a bedroom, separate room with a fold-out couch plus loveseat, a bathroom and powder room, so a good fit for a couple plus 1 adult child. Breakfast is convenient!
