Duke of Normandie Hotel

The location of the hotel is excellent. This was my reason for my family bookings here. Unfortunately, the bed in my room had bed bugs that we found at bed time. We called reception immediately for assistance but no staff were present on site (reception desk shut) and my call landed on voicemail. We therefore packed our suitcases and abandoned the hotel immediately and found last minute accommodation elsewhere. I have been nearly fully reimbursed for my abandoned reservations but no gesture offered for the stress, inconvenience and extra costs incurred for a late night hotel move. Nor for that matter, no offer to return to the hotel with assurances that the infestation had been resolved. It's a shame for me as I am a new frequent visitor to Guernsey and I have one hotel less to choose from.

The Duke of Normandie was perfect for my trip - in town but just off the main shopping area and close to bus routes. Very comfortable and clean room, great food in the restaurant, breakfast (always important in my opinion) was excellent and freshly cooked. A perfect base for visiting friends and family.
