Apanemo Hotel

We'd split our September holiday between the Oia side of the island and Apanemo in Akrotiri to give us the opportunity to see as much of the island as possible. Finding the hotel is easy and they have a car park. It is impossible to give Apanemo less than five stars. The reason is that their staff are so nice and friendly and helpful. They are family friendly and kids were there laughing and playing in the beautiful infinity pools. This was the only time we saw kids enjoying Santorini as this is not an island that is generally suited to kids holidays. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with a drink and taken through the wonders of Santorini and possible things to do, boat trips, wine tours, etc. Reception can help with taking you to the local area for free, and further afar for a fee. We used this to go to and from Akrotiri restaurants, the bus stop and a night out to Fira. Buses from Akrotiri cost 2€ a person and highly recommended to get around, though the last bus back from Fira is 9pm in September. It was very easy to get around in our hired car and using What3Words on the island is a great way to navigate. We ate in the restaurant and their food and drink was excellent with large portions. The breakfasts were all lovely and we recommend all the options. The rooms were more of a small house, it was an excellent size and we had booked the Traditional Suite, Balcony, Sea View (& Garden view). Great views of the caldera. Convenient for great beaches.

Look no more. This is beyond perfection! Staff are nice and accommodating. The place is clean, quiet, has excellent amenities and breathtaking views of the caldera. Breakfast is superb. My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Would recommend this place to friends/family. Thank you apanemo for giving us best experience in Santorini!

Don't sleep on staying in Akrotiri. Everyone gravitates to Oia and Fira for obvious reasons but with places like the Apanemo Hotel in Akrotiri, save some money and avoid the crowds for a more relaxing stay on the other side of the caldera. You can always go visit the other side of the island (and you should) but why deal with all the chaos during your whole stay. Apanemo is in great shape, very clean, with plenty of space for all of its guests, makes for a very relaxing stay. The best touch of it all is the family style service that will assist in anything you need. I will be telling anyone looking to go to Santorini this is the place to stay and hopefully I get the chance to return myself.

We stayed in Apanemo Hotel for 6 days for our honeymoon and had the most amazing time. It was like heaven as the view were amazing and you are so well looked after by staff there. The hotel had a lovely pool and amazing views, but the best was the staff. The hotel is run by a family. Spiros, the manager was lovely - he gave us lots of tips on things to do and recommendations on good restaurants. No questions were too much trouble for him. On our last day, he offered us late check out since we had a late flight, which was so much appreciated. We also enjoyed the lovely food from the hotel. Breakfast was fantastic with a lovely selection and we had lunch by the pool a lot as the food was lovely. The chef Villi was so friendly and such an amazing cook. The Greek pudding (available at breakfast) he made was to die for! The hotel offer free lifts to anywhere within Akrotiri, which is great. We got lifts to the bus stop and took the bus to Fira and Oia for day trips and it worked out very well. We'd love to stay at Apanemo again the next time we go to Santorini.
