Attalos Hotel

Wonderful staff and great rooms. Wonderful breakfast buffet. A great family owned hotel for multiple generations.

We had two bookings with this hotel. They put us in a room which is completely different than picture. Air conditioning not properly working and bathroom was 4 x 4’. They took money by showing pictures of something and put you in a different room. It was intentionally done. Booked it 3 months before. April 1st to 4th all 3 nights with two kids we felt miserable.

My family has been staying at the Attalos for years. It has gone from one generation to the next. It feels like coming home to family every year we vacation in Greece. The breakfast buffett is worth the price. A coffee and sweet outside the hotel woupd cost 3x more. It is safe, clean and always accommodating to all your needs. You are also in the heart on Monastraki square and view the Acropolis day and night. I would give it a 20 star from me. Try it and enjoy..

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past 20 years, and have referred it to several family and friends over the years. It can’t be near for location and value. The rooftop bar is a highlight. It’s our go to when in Athens.

It's very good central location. Hotel is a bit dated although bathroom was nicely renovated. Bit annoyed I was allocated a twin bed room even though I'd booked for two, but was asked if I was alone (a bit rude and discriminatory). The single bed felt like it was appropriate for a child not a full size adult! The hotel claims to have sound proof windows but the noise from the road and outside is significant. The worst though is the noise of other guests, talking at the tops of their voices, banging on doors until the early hours of the morning! Ridiculous! .. management should be far more proactive in ensuring a quieter more peaceful environment. At times I almost felt unsafe so rowdy were the other guests. I enjoyed the breakfast but may not suit everyone. The staff were quite friendly and efficient. I'd probably look for another place to stay mainly because of the extreme and almost constant noise of other guests. The rooftop bar is good.
