Hotel Schlossblick

This was a really friendly family-run hotel well-situated for the castle and town centre in Wernigerode and close to plenty of good bars and restaurants. The hotel contacted me in advance to ask if I wanted to pre-book parking (€4.50) and breakfast (€8) as the Expedia rate was room-only. I would definitely advise pre-booking parking if you are arriving with a car as the guest car park is small. The breakfast was good and a typical German continental breakfast - plenty of fresh rolls with cold meats and cheeses etc. The hotel has free wi-fi which worked well. Note the rooms are not air-conditioned and the front of the hotel is next to a road junction so bring ear plugs if you're travelling in the summer and need the windows open.
