Hotel Alpha

A great stay in this family run hotel. The double ensuite room, in an adjoining building, was very large and had little extras such as a fleece covered hot water bottle (not needed in July) a card in the wardrobe showing 3 ways to knot a neck tie, and fruit on a china plate with a sharp knife. A selection of teas etc were provided too. The bedding was great but I had paid for and was looking forward to a double bed but got 2 singles pushed together, which is not as comfortable. The mostly residential street appeared quiet but I was disturbed by traffic and pedestrian noise and street cleaning. ( but I live in a rural area and had the windows open too). There are a couple of restaurants close by but its only a few minutes walk to the shops and eateries in Lister Miele. In the opposite direction is the main railway station and the hotel has a car to drop you off on request. The staff were friendly and helpful and happy to store my case after checkout. Old fashioned values not ofen seen these days. I would stay again.
